Dr. Fernández brings deep, youth-centered experience spanning community organizing, national policy, out-of-school time, and PreK–12 system leadership. Throughout her career, she has focused on expanding opportunity and improving outcomes for young people, particularly those navigating complex challenges. Most recently, as Hamilton County Schools’ inaugural Chief of Student Supports, she led initiatives designed to strengthen student well-being and success, overseeing systems and targeted supports for youth experiencing foster care involvement, housing instability, and engagement with the juvenile legal system. Her work has consistently centered on ensuring that young people have the resources, relationships, and guidance needed to thrive. She holds a doctorate in Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and will join the team in June 2026.
