Chattanooga 2.0 is excited to announce Brandon Hubbard-Heitz will join the backbone organization as the new Director of Student Strategy and Literacy. Brandon comes to the collective impact organization with more than 10 years of experience in K-12 education, including more than 7 years of service in Hamilton County Schools. He has worked with, designed, and led literacy initiatives for diverse students in rural, urban and suburban schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade.

As director, he will also support community and out-of-school time partners in impactful engagement with the student success planning initiative, taking place in 44 public schools this year.
Brandon brings not only robust knowledge and experience in K-12 literacy, but also a history of and passion for championing transformative change for students. Brandon began his career in education as a Teach For America corps member in South Dakota and also taught in Philadelphia before moving to Hamilton County. Prior to taking this position with Chattanooga 2.0, Brandon served as an assistant principal at East Brainerd Elementary, as the middle and high school literacy lead for Opportunity Zone schools in Hamilton County, and as an English teacher at The Howard School.
“The addition of Brandon’s passion and expertise to our team will be an immense asset as we work toward our community’s goal of doubling the number of students reading on grade-level by the end of 3rd grade. But it’s about more than numbers – it’s about setting every student up for success in learning and life. Under Brandon’s leadership, I’m confident we’ll move even closer to making that a reality for every child in our community,” said Keri Randolph, Executive Director of Chattanooga 2.0.
