Chattanooga is at the forefront of discussions on ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), which are toxic stress situations occurring in the first 100 days of life. In many cases, these early childhood traumas can follow a person from birth through the rest of their life.

Tennessee has taken a major role in ensuring the public is informed and educated on how to address and prevent these detrimental situations. Through a grant from Governor Haslam, Tennesseans are joining the conversation about how important the first 100 days of life are and how to ensure all children have access to a successful future.

Sponsored by Unum, our Early Matters Coalition is proud to be hosting a two-day screening workshop of “Building Strong Brains: ACEs, The Tennessee Story” with WTCI-TV, United Way of Greater Chattanooga, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Helen Ross McNabb Center.

Along with the screening, the two-day workshop will consist of guided breakout sessions to give educators and participants the opportunity to discuss the content in the screenings and how to take what they learn back to the community.
