Leadership Chattanooga Project Impacts Community by Mentoring Student Teams

100 (100s) project team is excited to have successfully mentored a group of young community leaders aimed at impact, multiplied: 100 youth, working on projects to impact 100 people each.

Their idea was pretty simple: Teams of ten young people will be led through a process to identify problems throughout the city, implement creative solutions, and evaluate outcomes.

Since the time Leadership Chattanooga began meeting with the group, the team has expanded with representation from schools ranging from Orchard Knob to Baylor. Leadership Chattanooga mentored the group in planning projects and events, creating partnership networks, and identifying a blueprint for planning future projects.  The main project, a Cultural Christmas Celebration, involved the partnership with La Paz and 100 (100s) to host a holiday cultural event for the Chattanooga community on December 19, 2015. Students and families from all over the city came together to share their cultural holiday foods and activities. This event was such a success that they are planning to make it an ongoing event for each Christmas season.

In all, these young leaders continue to make impacts across the community, and Leadership Chattanooga is proud to have been part of these young leaders’ journey.
