Open-source lesson plans for early chIldhood educators

If you work in child care, you need a day off. But our early educators often dedicate significant time to crafting detailed lesson plans, only to find that they are not always followed. To address this challenge and ensure teachers can enjoy their much-needed breaks, the child care substitute lesson plan toolkit idea was born.

This community project was the collaboration of many early childhood stakeholders in Chattanooga-Hamilton County, TN, including child care teachers. Each lesson plan was uniquely written by members of our community and aligned to at least one TN Early Learning Development Standard.

The toolkit was developed so that hard-working early childhood educators can quickly pull a themed, pre-developed lesson plan, at no cost.

Chattanooga 2.0 is a nonprofit backbone organization, dedicated to enhancing economic opportunity and quality of life in Chattanooga and Hamilton County, TN, through education and career access. Founded in 2015, we lead initiatives to remove systemic barriers and provide support from early childhood education to thriving wage careers, fostering generational change for children, students, and their families.

This toolkit is made possible through the public-private partnerships who fund the backbone team of Chattanooga 2.0 and by a grant from the City of Chattanooga to the Early Matters Quality Matters Fund. Their investments have made this resource free for any early childhood educator, anywhere in the world.
