Equity Council

What we do

The fulfillment of Chattanooga 2.0’s vision is centered on a commitment to equity and hinges on the closing of achievement gaps. And so, in 2021, we committed to establishing the Chattanooga 2.0 Equity Council, a set of local experts and leaders committed to changing the odds for children, students, and families.

The Equity Council will set out to:

Evaluate, audit, and assess the current state of equity in Chattanooga-Hamilton County
Generate student-centered strategies, policies, and practices with a shared aim: to close equity gaps in Chattanooga-Hamilton County and help institutions be better poised to serve all students
Develop collaborative strategies to train and build capacity among leaders and staff serving students across the cradle-to-career continuum in topics like racial equity, cultural competence, implicit bias, and more
